Transit Plan

Kananaskis Improvement District (KID) and the Municipal District of Bighorn (MD) are working in partnership to develop a Transit Plan to influence a new transportation system for KID and the MD of Bighorn.

Transit Feasibility Study 

KID and the MD have retained Dillon Consulting to conduct a Transit Feasibility Study (the Study) to understand the transit needs of residents and visitors. Feedback received as part of the Study will support the development of the Transit Plan.

Transit Survey

KID and the MD of Bighorn are working in partnership to develop a Transit Plan to influence a new transportation system for KID and the MD of Bighorn. Engagement with residents, employees, and visitors to Kananaskis and the MD will take place between March and July of 2024.

The Transit Plan will consider service options, financing, and steps to implement a transit system for Kananaskis and the MD of Bighorn. Feedback received as part of the Transit Feasibility Study will support the development of the Transit Plan. The final Transit Plan is planned to be presented to both Councils in the Fall of 2024.
