I believe strongly in sustainable business development and the importance of being a steward of our environment.   "A united community is a strong community”
My areas of focus will be
  • Responsibly growing our economy to benefit our citizens
  • Encouraging better public transport options to improve the quality of life for residents
  • Improving the quality of life of our residents. This is critical to the success of our economy, including safe and comfortable accommodation.
I was raised in New Brunswick and have worked in the hospitality industry across North America. I have been fortunate to live and work in New Brunswick, British Columbia, Hawai’i, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Lake Louise and now Kananaskis. Working in these locations has taught me that development can work for everyone. The best approach in my experience is to consult with all stakeholders on important issues. I will do that.

Kananaskis is a special place. It is important that Kananaskis benefits from tourism in a sustainable manner.

As a long time resident of the KID, I understand the many challenges of living in this small but precious, remote community.

I have lived at and managed a non-profit business in KID for almost a decade. My role as manager of the Ribbon Creek Hostel (HI-Kananaskis) has given me the life skills needed to represent my community at large. As councillor for Non-commercial Residents and Ratepayers, I will strive to:
  • Listen to and advocate for the needs of our community
  • Create a network between non profit organizations in Kananaskis to link and maximize the services that each organization provides
  • Connect KID residents through community activities and social media outlets to create a strong and united community.
My experience includes:
  • Having the fortune of living in KID for the past nine years
  • Managing a non-profit business within KID for almost a decade
  • Attending Kananaskis community meetings and gatherings
  • Over the years, bringing the community together by hosting various community events, such as Canada Day celebrations, local music concerts, cooking and baking classes and mountain botany workshops. My events united residents from throughout Kananaskis, including staff members of The Kananaskis Lodge, Alberta Government employees, Tim Hortons camp and golf course employees as well as the Lower Lakes community.
