Council Elections
Elections to KID Council are held every three years, with the next election being scheduled for October 2010.
Nomination Day for upcoming elections is September 20, 2010. If you are interested in being part of the Kananaskis Improvement District Council please contact the Municipal Administrator for more information and to obtain a copy of the appropriate forms. In September of an election year, a Nomination Day Notice is posted in local newspapers. Nomination forms are then received by the Returning Officer at the jurisdiction office, with the election following in October.
Following an election, each Council is formally established through a Ministerial Order by the Minister of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation.
